Preterm is slowly rolling out single-appointment (also known as same-day) abortion care. This means some patients may be able to get an abortion on the same day as their initial consultation.

 

Not every patient will be able to receive a same-day abortion, but we plan to expand this service in the coming months. 

What Does “Same-Day” Mean?

A same-day abortion is when a surgical or medication abortion is received on the same day as your consultation appointment. Preterm refers to this service as “single-appointment abortion care” because patients may not be able to obtain an abortion the same day they call us.​

Do I Still Need a Consultation Appointment?

Yes. All abortions require a consultation appointment, regardless of whether you are receiving your abortion on the same day or a different day. ​

Am I Eligible for Single-Appointment Abortion Care?

You may be able to receive your abortion on the same day as your consultation if:

• We can locate the pregnancy on an ultrasound.

• You are less than 12 weeks pregnant.

• You meet all medical safety guidelines.

• You have paid your full fee.

• We have an available appointment.

What If I Don't Qualify for Single-Appointment Abortion Care?

We can still provide you with an abortion – it would just be on a different day from your consultation.

Do I Have to Receive My Abortion on the Same Day as my Consultation?

No. You may choose to have your consultation appointment and abortion on separate days. Our staff will work with you on scheduling.
